Margene Lively's Obituary
Graveside services for Margene Lively will be at 12 noon Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel under direction of Rader Funeral Home.
Margene went to her Lord on Monday, March 16, 2015 after several years of car for Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born September 7, 1926 to Joe M. and Gladys Winningham in Haughton, Louisiana. Soon after her family relocated to Marshall, Texas where she attended school and graduated from Marshall High School.
On August 27, 1949 she married her high school sweetheart, Gordon Lively, soon after he returned home from the United States Navy where he served during World War II.
She loved the outdoors and gardening, her green thumbs allowed her to have a lavish yard in town and at Caddo Lake. Friday during football season consisted of Longview Lobo Football. She attended almost every home and away game for years.
A great wife, mother and friend, her non-stop bubbly personality will be greatly missed.
Margene was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gordon Lively.
She is survived by her son Gordon Lively, Jr. and wife, Debbie and her daughter, Marceil Lively. Her grandchildren, Autumn Lively, Chris Light, Shane Light and wife, Jenny and seven great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Southern Care Hospice and Whispering Pines for the wonderful care and affection given to Margene.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in her name be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
