Lyla A. Mauldin's Obituary
Lyla Ann Mauldin, 74, of Longview, Texas passed away February 16, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ivy Higgison and her brother and sister John and Jean Higgison all of Harrogate, England.
She is survived by her husband Bill Mauldin of Longview, daughter Sharron Holmes and grandchildren Rhiannon, Jaryd and Joel Holmes of Hallsville.
Lyla also leaves behind brothers and sisters, Arthur Higgison, Robert Higgison, Millicent Gillette and Shirley Bradley all of Harrogate, England.
Lyla came to the United States in 1962 to marry her beloved Bill. They worked at a variety of family businesses, most notable being the South Green Miniature Golf Course, M&M Restaurant and As You Like It Catering.
Lyla loved life and loved to cook for people. She also loved fishing, and doting on her grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister and nana. She will be greatly missed by both family and friends.
With so many of her family so far away, the family has chosen to have this on-line memorial only.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
