Today i heard the sad news about Luann whom i met while working at Humana Hospital close to Atlanta, Ga. LuAnn was the charge nurse on the medical floor and i was her secretary. We became friends, because she loved everybody regardless of their status in this world. I was also her dog sitter and her "mother's sitter" and sometimes i sat for both of them while her mother was being rehabed after suffering a stroke--i got to know Pat her husband who she always joked about how when she first met him "an officer and a gentleman"--and then she would laugh at how he changed--ha-ha--Pat would always visit the unit on the 3-11 shift and bring all the nurses "STICKY BUNS"--lots of these sweet rolls because he thought we all needed to put on a few pounds. Pat and LuAnn lived in this really "rich" neighborhood and they would go out of town sometimes two weeks at a time and i would live in their home while they were away i was renting a small efficiency apt at the time and i had many personnel from the hospital that knew my love of animals and they would all have me live in their homes while they were out of town--My only request for payment was--you had to keep your refrigerator stocked with food and i got to eat whatever i wanted---well let me tell you these two already had their OWN grocery store--it was food heaven--e.g. if you like cereal there were 22 boxes of different flavors to choose from--one time i stayed there and i told them i went out to the freezer to check out what i was going to defrost--and a twenty five pound chicken fell out and hit me above the knee and i had an ace bandage on for a week--course everyone said chickens don't weigh that much--but you get the point--they had ever bird imaginable in that freezer in the garage because there was no room in the kitchen for anymore food to fit in--LuAnn was an incredible decorator-there was alot of beautiful artwork--especially indian art and english art------ladies LuAnn was a warm hearted person and when you stepped into Her and Pat's home-you were "home" because there was not an ounce of snobbery in these folks--and manicured-LuAnn was a natural beauty with that red hair and those manicured toes and nails she was spoiled with love from Pat-----did i mention the perfume collection--this is where i first met Elizabeth Arden not the real person but the perfume RED DOOR---perfume heaven--upstairs LuAnn collected perfume and precious moments--a ladies paradise Luann had shelves of both you have never seen the likes of---and i will probably never again see unless i meet a MOVIE STAR--my Lordy mercy--when i saw all that perfume after stepping out of the shower i felt like a kid in a candy store---just one little squirt i was feeling very special to know someone with such class-----she told me she had every precious moment made except for one that could only be obtained by going to the maker and i believe it was a church and there you could buy that one and have it autographed--Luann supported this collector because he was a christian and so was she-----she was a wonderful nurse, a wonderful person and she made a difference in alot of people lives and i will miss her very much and my deepest sympathy to you Pat- who hope will read this and get a good laugh and remember the good times and know that she was such a positive person that she would want you to be happy and not sad. And Pat when you get settled and get direction back in your life remember there are alot of person's like myself that would like to keep in touch and help you lift your spirits---i have oftened thought about you and Luann and everytime i'd type in favre-i'd get that "football" player---Judy called me today with the news and i haven't heard from her in 10 years either but i still have the same phone number 770-466-5533,P.O. Box 1581, Loganville, Ga 30052--------keep in touch --and keep that crazy sense of humor and pray to God that he will help you make the right decisions--and i told Judy i hope he has taken LuAnn to his hometown because that is where his heart is--and darn if you didn't--you go guy!!!
