Well, I just cannot believe I did not know this earlier. I knew she was in Lufkin, and tried to call a number of times, but got a sound like a fax machine. I am Louise Brady's daughter, and she and Lorene were kin on the WRIGHT side, and Lola Adams, also, Lorene's mother. Lorene used to come to Mother's and they would sit out on the front porch and knit. I think somewhere I have a brown afghan which Lorene started and gave to mother to finish. We moved mother to Kingwood in 1995, I think it was...she died in 2001, and Lorene and Ralph came to her funeral in Kilgore. That was the last time I saw her. She was such a delight to be around. You are my cousin, too. I have been doing our family history for 30 years, and it is online. I was working on the DOWNS line today (Emily Downs was Green Wright's first wife), and decided to hunt for Lorene one more time. I am just so sorry I didn't know about her death, as well as not being able to see her. If you want any of my work, I can send you a link...or can send you reports in a pdf format. You have my condolences, even though I'm quite late. I know how you miss her. I still miss my mother. Not a day passes that I don't think about her.

My parents , Harold and Carletta Grimmett were very dear friends of Buddy and Lorene. I would say Lorene and my mother were as close as sisters. There are wonderful memories I have of the 4 of them interacting , and know they have many of just the 4 of them. I am proud of their relationship. They all had difficult times to deal with but I am secure in knowing that they are all reunited again. Thanks Lorene for naming me. .A funny story. Also so loved Buddy.. His humor also was great. . Especially at the supper table when he would push out the false tooth. The humor between the 4 of them was wonderful. Andreae K Grimmett Hoosty

To the family : my sincere condolences. There is no greater pain than the death of a loved one. Sometimes it seems almost more than a person can bear. Jehovah God helps us with this in His word, He promises us that He will put a stop to all sickness and death will be no more (REV 21;3.4) Jehovah also shows His love for us through the ransom sacrifice of His beloved son Jesus Christ. What a wonderful gift to be given ! Then the hope of seeing our loved ones again on this earth, transformed into a paradise. The Bible tells us this was Jehovah's will when He created Adam & Eve. Jan, Paula, and families,

I am so sorry to learn of Lorene's passing. She was one of the sweetest and funniest people I'd ever met. I was privileged to enjoy her, still, at the Woodland's Ladies' Luncheons and as a neighbor. She was a wonderful lady and I loved her dearly.

Aunt Lorene ... one of my favorite Great Aunts. I always remember her coming to Arkansas to visit when we were kids. She was always fun (and funny) and so loving. The last time I remember seeing her was at her Surprise 80th Birthday Party. My fondest memory was when the Elton Adams Family had a gathering in Jefferson, TX the fall prior to her 80th Birthday and we all piled in the cars and drove to Longview for a family visit with her. It was a last minute surprise type of visit. And she was absolutely giddy that we all (about 15+ of us) dropped by just to see her. I remember how wonderful she was and how she took the time to go to each of us and hug us and look us right in the face with her hands on our cheeks and talked to each of us one by one. I'll always remember that and how special that visit was where she gave us each a few minutes with her alone. She was a special person. Also, the funny thing that happened that day, when we all arrived in bulk ... her neighbors were calling her thinking something was wrong before we could get into the house. The last time the phone rang, she grabbed it up, said "My Family is here visiting, nothing is wrong, stop calling me." And hung up. It was so funny! She was a true character! Always loved her! A special lady.
