I would first like to say that Skip and I are very sorry that we are missing Lorraine's farewell. We loved her so much.
In 1960, roughly 48 years ago, the Dishman family met the Schenk family. There were seven of us, ranging in ages two through fourteen. We had recently lost our father in an accident, and our mother was unable to care for seven children. Arrangements were made for us to be placed in the Methodist Children's home. Shortly before that, we had met the Schenks. They took us into their lives and never let us go. We became part of their family. Lorraine gave us unconditional love, encouragement, and praise throughout and beyond our growing up years.
During those years Lorrnine and Jack, unselfishly shared their time and love with us. We spend countless weekends and vacations with them. They would drive to Waco on Fridays to get us and return us to the Home on Sundays. We spent Christmas's with them, sometimes in Cuero. They truly made us fell like we were their children. I often thought that Larry and Jim were lucky to have such great parents.
The loyalty that Lorraine showed us never waivered. She always remembered us on our birthdays, at Christmas and other special occasions. This friendship has continued into our adult lives. Lorraine and Jack were always there for us.
I admired Lorraine in so many was. She was a wonderful role model. I often thought that I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. I especially wanted to have beautiful flower gardens like hers.
Lorranine Schenk TRULY made a difference!! WE will miss YOU. Thank you.##imported-begin##Vivian and Skip Curry##imported-end##
