LOIS HATTON VINSON
Services for Lois Hatton Vinson , 83, of Longview will be 10 AM Thursday, Nov. 13th at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Gooch officiating. Entombment will follow at Rosewood Park Mausoleum. Mrs. Vinson died Monday morning at a local care facility.
Lois was born May 9, 1925 in St. Augustine, Texas to James and Lillian Bailey Hatton. She spent her early life in Woodville where she met the love of her life, Bill Vinson. They were married in 1942 and they lived in Beaumont for many years before moving to Longview in 1980. She was a devoted wife and mother who adored her family and friends, and she was adored by them. Lois was a wonderful homemaker who loved her home and loved entertaining groups of friends in her home. She was a great cook and an outstanding seamstress.
Lois had an amazing love for people and a deep compassion for those in need. She had a deep faith in God and thankfulness for His grace and forgiveness. She was a member of the Alpine Church of Christ and her love for the Lord was evident to all who knew her.
Lois is survived by her husband, W.H. "Bill" Vinson of Longview; her daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Tolbert Chisum of Kenilworth, Illinois; a granddaughter and her husband, Debra and Steve Goldstein of Winetka, Illinois; her great grandsons, William, Zachary, and Joshua Goldstein; a sister, Nita Haynes of Woodville, Texas and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, W.R. and Charles Hatton.
The family is grateful to the staff and nurses at Beacon Hospice at Margaret's House for the loving care they gave Lois. Memorials may be sent to Beacon Hospice at Margaret's House, 5016 Gilmer Rd., Longview, TX 75604.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. Wednesday evening 6 to 8 PM.
