Auntie Lois was more like a mother to me than an aunt. It was so special when they lived on Fieldwood in Beaumont while building their new showplace of a home in Bevil Oaks. It was easy to drop by for a visit when she was so close. Lois' taste was as impeccable as the quality and depth of her love. A favorite memory was when she and Mom (Nita) would get together for their annual candy making day at our house for the Christmas holidays. They always had so much fun and produced the most luscious delectables. The house literally rang with laughter anytime they were together. Also, when I stayed with Lois and Bill in Silver, she took a group of Carolyn's (before she was Carrie) friends to the show one afternoon. Aunt Lois took me out in the lobby at the picture show where "Psycho" was playing and I would peek through the curtain over the window on my tiptoes with her squeezing my hand during the really scary parts. The only characteristic of Lois' as charming for me than her laughter would have to be her loving hugs. I still miss her to this very day. Debby Lynn
