Dearest Kirk and family,
Brad McIver who also lives in Omaha, shared the news of Linda's illness and passing. At first the news brought tears which were soon replaced by a flood of warm memories.
First, were the memories of you and I growing up across the road from each other in our grade school years and how sad I was for your loss. Those were replaced by the memories of Linda in high school. These memories brought a smile. The memories of Linda included many hours spent together in classes as well as outside activities shared together. There were endless Pep Club times with all those football games bundled up trying to stay warm, there was memembership in National Honor Society, glee club, and FHA, as well as a sleep-over at the Scheel's so we could get up really early for some activity - not sure now what that was. I remember a friend who laughed often, was kind of heart, was positive and encouraging, and was determined not to let me fail in that Sr. math class no matter how math adverse I was.
As I read all the wonderful wishes I see that those days in HS were just the beginning of what was Linda's life. It looks to have been a true celebration of what matters most. It is apparent that Linda was loved by many and gave her all.
Know that friends and family are among life's greatest blessings. They will see you through and will warm your heart. From the Self family I extend my deepest sympathy. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers.##imported-begin##Rolee Self Kelly##imported-end##
