Lillie May ?Mrs. Frank? Cobb
Lillie May Cobb passed away early July 3rd, 2005, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Reverend Dewayne Beaty officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Lillie May was born October 20th, 1917, in Longview, Texas. She graduated Longview High School, and attended Mary Hardin Baylor University in Belton, Texas, and graduated from BMI Business College in Longview. Afterwards she worked in the office at MacWilliams Furniture and Hardware.
She married Frank Cobb in August 1939 and the two traveled extensively. Mr. Cobb worked as a journeyman electrician and they lived in Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, and South Texas before WWII. Their only son, Charles Franklin Cobb, Jr. was born in March of 1944. After the war, Frank and Lillie May opened up their own business, Southwest Electric in Longview. Mrs. Cobb served as Secretary and Treasurer until 1983. She also served as Vice-President and Treasurer of Cobb Lease Properties, Inc. from 1983 until 2002.
Mrs. Cobb was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and the KP Lodge. She is also one of the original members of Zonta of Longview and has been an honorary lifetime member. She attended First Baptist Church from the time her mother brought her to the nursery as an infant and continued to be an active member throughout her life. Mrs. Cobb was a great cook, homemaker, and devoted grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Frank Cobb, son and daughter-in-law, Charles Cobb and Ann Rhodes of Longview; granddaughter Beth Matlock and her husband Paul of Longview, and granddaughters May Cobb and Susie Cobb of Austin; brother Eric Ottman and his wife Barbara of Longview; brother Gerhart Ottman and his wife Nelda of Longview; niece Betty Coleen Morris and her children of Tyler; nephews John Neal, Colin Neal and Bubba Ottman; and nieces Linda Neal and Candy Haugen.
