Leonard Everett Covey
Leonard Everett Covey, 90, of Longview, passed away Monday, June 8, 2015. Leonard was born March 8, 1925, to Everett M. Covey and Hite Huffstutter in Obion County, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Covey of Hornbeak, Tennessee.
Mr. Covey is survived by his wife, Ruth; his daughter, Cathy Smallwood and son-in-law, Clifton Smallwood; and son, David Covey; and two granddaughters; Carrie Spaulding and husband Sgt. Brandon Spaulding, USMC, and Claire Smallwood.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., today, June 11, 2015, at the funeral home.
Mr. Covey was a World War II veteran and enjoyed recalling his Navy experiences. He was also a Christian and lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Leonard took pleasure in greeting everyone with his kind and friendly personality. He dearly loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
