I was so sorry to see Ms. Lela's obit in the paper. I used to work for Dr. Devulapalli and got to be very fond of Ms.Lela. Laura we spoke many times about your mom and she was a remarkable lady and will be sorely missed. As I had a scare recently with my own Mom I feel I can relate to you and your feelings. I was one of her 2nd grade Sunday School students at Mobberly. She was always so elegant. I would visit their home to play with Laura on occasion. She had the best doll collection ever, and Laura was obviously very special to her mother. Mrs. Drake always had Laura dressed in the cutest clothes and with curls in her hair like Shirley Temple. I had spoken with Ben David before Christmas and he told me about Lela's illness. For as long as I can remember, the Danforth's have known the Campbell's...We express our sincere sympathy. My husband's aunt, Mildred Sigmund Wesley's only surviving sibling who worked at Riff's for many years is now at Christian Care Center, Hilltop Haven, in Gunter, TX and will soon be 94 years old. Mildred always thought so much of Lela who provided wonderful customer service for Louis Morgan, especially after Etoile's death and when Mildred could no longer drive. Mildred always knew when she called Lela at Louis Morgan her order would be delivered "just right." I'm going to see that Mildred gets a copy of the article from the Longview paper.
