Funeral services for Lee Calvin Hand, age 79, of Henderson will be held Tuesday May 20, 2008 at 2:00pm at the Calvary Baptist Church in Henderson with the Rev. Bill Kuykendall and Steve Butler officiating. Burial will follow at La Read Obituary

I was so sorry to learn of Lee's death. When I remember the years at Calvary Baptist, I can see him there leading singing and singing in the choir, with Gwen at the organ. I have fond memories also of working with Bruce and Kenny in youth choir. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers during these difficult days.

I am out of town and won't be able to make it Mr. Lee's service, but just know that he was so special to me. I will always remember his beautiful voice, filling the sanctuary as he sang one of our favorite hymns, "How Great thou Art". With Mrs. Gwen at the piano of course! We will all miss him so! Sweet Gwen, Gentle Glenda, Bruce and Kenny,
What a sweet time we have shared together these last few months. Visiting and sitting with Lee at the hospital. Sitting by his bedside at home. I will forever cherish these moments in my heart.
As you journey through the process of grief I am praying that God will give you peace and strenght. I pray the memories you cherish will give you comfort and that you will allow those memories to let you smile again.

Gwen, Bruce and Kenny, It saddened my heart when we recieved the news about Lee. He has been like a second dad to me for all of these years. As I thought about the past years our families have been together, it brought smiles as I reflected about our fun times. The tune "Beautiful Brown Eyes" has been stuck in my mind.
