I learned of Larry's passing through the old Trinity softball group grapevine. I am truly sorry for your loss...and sorry that we all lost touch so many years ago. I know Longview - I have family there and visit periodically. You may remember me as Carolyn Goehring, who hung out with Mike all the time and married Bill Hinkly. Bill passed away in 1986. It has been almost 28 years since I left Corpus and Tim and I married. I remember one of the first dates you guys had. While you were out, Jimmy, Carolyn and I â??TP'dâ? Larryâ??s house. We were found out by the neighbor who told Larry the next day. That was the only time Iâ??ve done something like that and I must say, we had a blast. But Larry was a â??Little Darlinâ??â? about it! It's hard to believe so many years have passed since Dean and all the guys played ball together in Corpus. I met Mr. Mangum at my son'sMichael Meador Board of Review for Eagle Scout on August 16, 2007. Mr. Mangum was a good influence on Michael as he went through the board of review process. I hope Mr. Mangum's family can be comforted in knowing what an impact he had on the Boy Scouts in this area. I am glad we had the privelege of meeting him. Dear Susan and Aaron,
A week has passed since the visitation. But the attendance that day and the funeral on Monday spoke of the number and intensity of which L D affected so many. I shall never forget his infectous laugh and the crazy things we shared in Scouting. He was a true friend and encourager to so many Scouts and Scouters. Dianita and I feel so blessed that we were able to share that time in the UK together last summer. And the December Candlelight Tour is still a fond memory that we often reflect on. May God continue to bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Remember the blessing of friends and we'll stay close so we can support you both during this difficult time of loss.
