Laurie Shae Ellard Bates' Obituary
Funeral services for Laurie Shae Ellard Bates, 26, of Longview, will be 10 AM Saturday, October 5, 2002 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Reverends Bill Copeland, Mike Smith and Don Wayt officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery.
Laurie died Tuesday, October 1, 2002 in Longview.
She was born May 5, 1976 in Longview and had lived here all of her life. She was an honor graduate of Hallsville High School
in 1994 where she was a cheerleader
for four years and also participated in other various sports activities. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and attended Kilgore College for two years and then went to the University of Texas at Tyler where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She was
employed as a Critical Care Nurse at Good Shepherd Medical Center.
She was also an RN and held certificates in ACLS, ENPG, TNCC, in addition she was a Preceptor in Training other nurses and also specialized in care of open heart surgery patients.
She is survived by her husband, Dustin Bates of Lake Cherokee; parents, Kevin and Ruby Ellard of Longview; grandmother, Nora D. Stone of Marshall; aunts and uncles, Debbie and Larry Hopkins of Longview, Alice and Frankie Tamplin of Marshall, Marion B. Stone, Jr. and wife Fran of Palestine, Janette and Jimmy Hawkins of Friendswood, Gary and Judy Ellard of Winona, James and Susan Miller of Austin, Candy Ellard and husband Allen Schrophsire of Austin, Gary and Judy Ellard of Winona; Mother-in-law, Robin McDaniel of Lake Cherokee; father-in-law and wife, Ricky and Stephanie Bates of Paris; brother-in-law, Bobby Campbell of Paris.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Friday, October 4, 2002.
