MY CONDOLENSES

Today is July 15. I just heard this yesterday. Larry was a great friend. We had so many great times together back in school whether we were playing games, water skiing, watching the Cowboy games, or just riding around in the Mustang. Here's to you buddy..

My name is Cliff Stepp and Larry and I had so many great and invigorating conversations. Larry's take on the world was unique and inspiring. He also told me I could be Robert Blake's younger double when they make the predictable TV movie. When he learned that I was also a musican a whole other topic of discussion opened up. Then, one day, a homeless guy came up behind Larry and said, "Man, you've got Einstein's hair!" It really cracked him up and he told me it would be a great idea for a song. So I wrote the song and created an "Einstein's Hair" poster for its debut at one of my show's at Corner View Restaruant & Bar. Larry's delight with the poster and the first live performance of "Einstein's Hair," could have lit up a couple of blocks downtown! He was like a kid at Christmas. Love ya, Larry. Your bright spirit lives on and on and on.##imported-begin##Cliff Stepp##imported-end##
We will miss Larry, his insights, quirky sense of humor, and chats at Blue and The Custom House here in the Central Coast of California...
I offer my deepest condolences to Larry's family##imported-begin##Tito Silveira##imported-end##
Larry will be missed in the architecture community in San Luis Obispo as well as by the gang that tipped a few at the lovely drinking establishment, Blue, located below his office. We all have fond memories of Larry's humor & character& could count on him to show up often after work for good conversation.
He attended my Oscar Party this year & was surprised at how formal it was & of all the beautiful women in attendance. He was all geared up for next year. He will be with us then in our hearts.##imported-begin##Heidi Rank, Architect##imported-end##
We will miss Larry. He was thoughtful and kind and a pleasure to be around. He always had valuable insights into the issues of the day. As an unusually sensitive architect and developer, he contributed much to the quality of life in San Luis Obispo. The yellow rose bush he recently brought us is now in our garden and we will remember his thoughtfulness every time it blooms. Our deep condolences to his family.##imported-begin##Allen & Barbara Haile##imported-end##
Mrs. Bissell and Jay:
I am so sorry to learn of the death of Larry. During our high school years Larry and I spent many hours together at Lake Cherokee. He was always so much fun to be around. I have fond memories of riding in the Bissell boat, a Chris Craft, if I remember correctly. Since Larry moved to California we did not stay in touch but I had hoped he would come to our 35th high school reunion this month. But that was not to be. The class of 1970 keeps a record of those that have passed away and Larry will be added to it. I know that many of us will talk about Larry at our reunion.
Jay, I know this is a difficult time for you. I remember our boy scout days together. We were lucky to be in such a good troop with dedicated adult leaders.
Having recently lost my son and having lost my brother many years ago I feel the pain both of you are experiencing. As many have tried so desparately to alliviate my pain I can only know try to do the same for you. However, there simply are no words.
I can only say your loss is shared by others that knew Larry while he was growing up in Longview and by many in California. I just read an email from one of his California friends. Larry was a kind and caring person who helped others.
I offer my deepest sympathies,

Dear Jay, Nancy, and Olive,
Such sorrow to lose a son, an only brother, and brother-in-law...may God give you comfort!
I'm really sorry that I never got to know Larry, but I know your family and he must have been a stand-up guy.
Hopefully, you will find peace and happiness in your memories of Larry and in celebrating his life!
With much love,##imported-begin##Martha McKinney Ylitalo##imported-end##
Bissell Family,
My name is Michael Fitzgibbons. I have known Larry for many years and I am truly thankful to have had the opportunity to call him my friend. He was my friend through suffering and joy; we both had neck injuries and understood eachother wordlessly. We rode recumbent bikes together. When I divorced he was there to offer me a place to live and when my son was grown he offered a place for him as well. When I remarried he rejoiced and became a friend of my wife, she was always happy to see him. We miss him dearly.
