You can only imagine the sadness I felt when I opened Aunt LaJuan’s obit(expecting to see services pending) and finding that communications had broken down and that I had missed the memorial. My deepest apologies to Marc and Connie…

That does not mean that she didn’t leave an indelible mark on my heart. Aunt “Louie”(as Uncle Wayne so lovingly called her) was the hostess with the mostess Great fellowship, food and wonderful memories are what I recall of our gatherings. She always had a funny story of silly things her first graders had done. They brought about such laughter and her sweet giggles!

My dear,sweet aunt was a woman of faith and family. Both were upmost expressions of the love she showed to each of us. I know our Lord welcomed her into heaven with, “Enter in, my kind
and faithful servant!”

God Has Got This

Mom as early as I can remember you have taught me to seek Gods guidance. Growing up, I remember you were there for all my football games, taking me to practice and picking me up. You were always teaching and sharing Gods word. I feel very grateful to have had a mother that loved her family as much as you did. You made sure I was all ways well dressed in those platform shoes and bell bottom pants. We made a lot of good memories over the years from the vacations to the beach and later in life working on the homestead. We both worked so hard and were so tired that we laughed till we cried from the pain but enjoyed every minute. I remember your last few days I would sit on the bed, and we talked about the many blessings this family has received. One of those nights was truly special and I will never forget it. I asked you if you were excited to meet Jesus and you said yes. As I looked up from the floor, your face was glowing and your skin was as smooth as silk. You had the most peaceful, calming look and the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. This split second of time will forever be etched in my memory until we meet again. As painful and heartbreaking as it was, I knew God Has Got This and it was time for me to start letting go. I will miss you and know without a doubt you were the Best Mom Ever.

LaJuan was full of joy and always had a smile on her face. She was always merry and full of enthusiasm. She was a fantastic Southern cook. A memory of her in the kitchen cutting out sugar cookies always makes me smile. She was a real diva.

LaJuan was my father’s only sister’s daughter- my cousin. I remember listening to her play the piano beautifully and skillfully. I remember her welcoming voice and beautiful blue eyes and smile. She was a tall long-legged drink of water- and just as lovely inside as out. She had the Wilson family gift of gorgeous blue eyes and good looks and she was always happy to host family get togethers, was strong and hearty- worked in her yard until the very end and enjoyed a long blessed life despite loss of loved ones along the way. She thoughtfully took flowers to our family members’ graves on special occasions. Always happy to hear from her cousins in emails she would send newsy replies. I had a feeling something was wrong when I didn’t hear from her last time I emailed. Thank you Connie for letting us know what happened. We will miss her sparkling spirit. May she rest in peace. My sincerest condolences to Marcus and Connie. I will be planting a tree in her memory.
