Today my heart is heavy as I remember Kevin.
Kevin was my dad’s caregiver, but to our family he became so much more. He cared for my father with incredible kindness, patience, humor, and dignity. My dad absolutely adored him and affectionately called him “his trainer.” The two of them shared a special bond filled with laughter, friendship, and mutual respect.
Kevin gave my dad the gift of feeling normal, independent, and cared for. He treated him like family, and in return, Kevin became family to us. Knowing my dad was in Kevin’s care brought us tremendous comfort and peace.
We loved Kevin very much and will never forget the impact he had on our lives. His compassion and generosity touched everyone who knew him.
As I think of both Kevin and my dad today, I find comfort in imagining them reunited. I hope Kevin is once again my dad’s trainer in Heaven, keeping him active, making him laugh, and reminding him what to do every step of the way.
Rest in peace, Kevin. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my dad. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. ❤️
With Gratitude,
Gina Pelaia
