Kent L. Josephson's Obituary
Kent L. Josephson, 78, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018; at Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview Texas. Kent was born in Brigham City, Utah, on October 29, 1939, the 4th of six children born to Karl L. Josephson and Leah Johnson Josephson. He graduated from Box Elder High School where he was on the wrestling, swim and football teams and played multiple instruments in the band. He served 8 years in the Air Force as a flight engineer and was deployed during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He loved to share his passion for flying with others eventually getting his flight instructors license enabling him to teach those close to him to fly.
Kent is survived by his wife, Gayle, Longview TX; children Keri Josephson (Joseph), Houston TX and Melissa Josephson McConnell (Mike), Benton LA; 4 grandchildren Madison & Chandler Josephson, Houston TX and Evan & Sydney McConnell Benton LA; mother-in-law Mildred Bishop, Longview TX; sister Karla Josephson (Roy) Hardy, Brigham City UT; sister-in-law Paulette Josephson Roberts; sister-in-law Charlotte (Bobby) McCrary, Hallsville TX; sister-in-law Kim (Roland) Harvey, Mineral Wells TX; and many dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Karl & Leah Josephson; his brothers Dick, Stephen, and Dwight and his sister Shirlea.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018, 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Blueridge Parkway in Longview. The family will receive friends on Sunday April 8, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm at Rader Funeral Home located at 1617 Judson Road, Longview. Interment will be at the Ashland Cemetery in Diana, TX.
