Karen Gaston Groves
Funeral services for Karen Gaston Groves, 57, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Pastor Randy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. in Youngblood Cemetery, Beckville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Karen was born January 7, 1953 in Dallas and had been a resident of Longview for the past 17 years. She was a former employee of Good Shepherd Medical Center and Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and was a church musician for many years.
She was preceded in death by her aunt, Burse Higginbotham; and grandparents, Jim and Jewel Brown Gaston; uncles, J. L. Higginbotham, J. R. Higginbotham and Cleo Higginbotham Rogers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Aaron Gene Groves of Longview; daughter, Gladys Fay Gabriella Groves of Longview; mother, Gladys Fay Higginbotham Baird and Papa Louis Hoffman of Longview; father, Jim B. Gaston of Keller, TX; cousins, Tommy Rogers, Lynn Rogers, Kenneth Rogers, Jeff Higginbotham, Jessie Rogers Jones, Joni Higginbotham Fischer, Laura Higginbotham Damschel and Cindy Higginbotham Maya; and numerous other cousins and relatives.
