My very first memory of Juanita was just after Ross and I started dating. We went over to Ray and Susans house for me to meet this wonderful woman. She had gifts for my at the time 2 year old daughter, she had never met us but was waiting with open arms to welcome us into this very special family.
She was such a wonderful woman that when Ross and I became pregnant there was no question about naming our daughter after her. Hannah Morrow Stevens carries the name and spirit of Juanita forever, and for me there is no greater gift then knowing how proud she was that her name would live on with Hannah.
She is loved and will be missed.

I was so sorry to hear of Mrs. Stevens passing. She was truly an amazing woman and as my sister Ana said below, she IS our main memory of St. Mary's. She was loved by everyone and i think of her every time i see or give a Dr. Suess book. She will be missed by so many and my thoughts and prayers are with her family during this time.##imported-begin##Smila Rabicoff##imported-end##
Many of my St. Mary's memories are due to Ms. Stevens! What a wonderful teacher and friend. It is because of her that I can now read stories in a much more dramatic and fun way to our son. She would be so proud of all that I learned from her..and how I am passing it on. She will be missed but her legacy will go on and on.##imported-begin##Ana Rabicoff##imported-end##
I was so sorry to hear of this lovely lady's passing. An a true lady she always was no matter what she was doing. Some of my fondest memories of our girl's days at St.Mary's School were being in class with her ; her plays and most definitely driving her students with
Jo Popma in our vans to speech tournaments. Juanita's 6,7, and 8th
graders would come in FIRST going up
against high school 10,11, and 12th
graders. It was amazing. She not only taught her students speech and
drama. . .she taught them alot more
in lessons for living a full, and
productive life. Oh,. . .what a
great lady Sweet Juanita was! ! ! No
matter what crossed her path.
May God always bless her and her
family. It was such an honor to have
had her friendship and assisted her
when she asked parents for help.
She will always be remembered with
lots of love by our family.
Love 'n Hugs,

Ray,
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Juanita was one of the main influences in my life. I took classes from her from the time I was about 5 at Northcutt Heights and took my daughter to the little yellow house. She was also my mother's dear friend. I have now retired from teaching theatre for 35 or so years. I can thank her for introducing me to what was to become my life's work.##imported-begin##Elizabeth Rector Hedges##imported-end##
I took speech and drama from Mrs. Stevens while I was in Junior High and High School. She taught me so much about poise and confidence. To this day I use the skills she taught me. I was very fortunate to know her and learn from her.##imported-begin##Susan Wood##imported-end##
Thoughts & prayers goes out to Mrs. Stevens' family. Mrs. Stevens was a dear friend of my Grandmother, Dottye Rector. She taught Theatre to both my Mother & myself. Both me & Mom teach Theatre. We are thankful for the seeds she planted. I think of Mrs. Stevens often and pass some of her stories on to my students.##imported-begin##Kim Funderburk##imported-end##
