Johnie Hart
Funeral services for Johnie Hart, 85, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Tim Smith and Dr. Jim Lilley officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Park Cemetery. He passed away Wednesday, November 28, in a Longview hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening November 30, at the funeral home.
Mr. Hart was born July 1, 1922, near Coushatta, LA. He was a retired electrician and was a member of the I.B.E.W., the local electricians union. His vocation caused him to travel widely, and he spent 19 months in Saudi Arabia, but for the most part, he was a longtime resident of Longview. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division in Normandy, France. Mr. Hart was a P.O.W. in Germany for 1 year and was a recipient of a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. On November 20, 1948, he married the love of his life, Buna ?Jean? Weaver. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, Longview.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janie Bailey and father, Chester Bailey.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Buna ?Jean? Weaver Hart of Longview; sister, Carolyn Hetzel of Dallas; brother-in-law, Inos Weaver of Longview; cousin, Dorothy Tucker of Woodsboro, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
