John S. Lowry's Obituary
Funeral services for John S. Lowry, 49, of Kilgore, will be 2 PM Tuesday, May 22, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview, with Reverend Gene Steger officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Cemetery, Kilgore, TX. The family will greet friends at the funeral home, Monday, May 21, from 6 to 8 PM.
Mr. Lowry died Friday morning in a local hospital.
John was born in Woodward County, Oklahoma August 19, 1957, and in the early ?70?s his parents moved the family to Hallsville, Texas. He and his wife moved to Kilgore shortly after getting married in 1985. He established his insurance business and served his customers well for 19 years. He was a devoted husband and father, a happy and loving family man, and a loyal and trusted friend. He was adored by one, loved by many, and will be missed by all.
He was a proud member of the N.R.A., N.W.T.F., and Ducks Unlimited, and a believer in wildlife and habitat management for the future of the world.
Mr. Lowry is survived by his wife of 20 years: Shelley; his son: Andy and wife Meredith of Fayetteville, AR; brothers: Robert T. Lowry and wife Helen of San Pedro, CA, William Bruce Lowery of Hallsville and Richard Wayne Lowry and wife Terry of Hallsville; grandson: William Douglas ?Will? Lowry of Fayetteville, AR and godson: Caleb Kenneth Carter of Longview, nephews: C. R. Guffin, Kyle Bredehoeft, Reese Guffin and nieces: Coleen Lowry, Kendra Guffin, Mattie Helms and Carlie Helms.
Pallbearers will be: Andy Lowry, Bruce Lowry, Wayne Lowry, David Ahlfinger, Randy Prior, C. R. Guffin, Kyle Bredehoeft, Robert Parrymore and Patrick Rushing.
The family suggest a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society or the March of Dimes in lieu of flowers.
