John was my very first boss. I was a co-op student at KHS several years ago so I would go to school for half a day and then go to work. He was the best boss I ever had! It was always a Monday requirement that we listen to the News Talk Radio, at least until he went to lunch and then Penny and I would sneak back to the break room and change it. He's probably the one person who helped me shape my political opinions too, to be quite honest! It's probably silly to think about things like that now, but they are good memories. I know this is a hard time, but I think in remembering the good times we honor him the best. My love goes to you and your family.##imported-begin##Sarah Kitchens##imported-end##
My memories of John is that he one of the very first people I met when I moved back to Kilgore in 1990. We were in Jaycees together and he helped me meet many new friends. He also helped us over and over when I had insurance issues with teenage drivers. I know he was well liked and did a great deal for the Kilgore community. He will be missed by many. I just wanted to say that the short time that I knew John, was really a cherished moment for me as well as my son. We will miss him very much, but I know he is free from the wordly worries that we all face on a daily basis.
