Joe Windham's Obituary
Longview, Texas - Joseph Duke Windham, 74, entered the kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, March 7 in Gregg County. He was surrounded by his family and friends.
Born on September 20, 1940, in Henderson, Texas to Joseph Clinton and Pauline Horton Windham. A graduate of the University of North Texas, he was a retired educator from Gladewater Independent School District.
He enjoyed traveling, camping, and Southern Gospel singing conventions as well spending time with his family especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nita Kay Hunter. Also surviving are sons: Scott and Karrie Windham of Denton, Texas and Brian and Janet Windham of Midlothian,
Texas. Grandchildren: Blake and Rebecca Windham of Houston, Texas, Andrew Joseph Windham and Joshua Windham of Midlothian, Texas,
A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10th at 10 a.m. at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. A service will follow at the funeral home.
A church service will take place on Wednesday, March 11th at 1pm in Chico, Texas at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church. Following the service, he will be laid to rest with Masonic Rites at the Chico cemetery.
