To Nita, Scott, and Brian, I just learned today of the death of Joe. I can hardly believe it! I'm so sorry. I remember all of our younger years with you and Joe. I remember the camping trips and trips to Colorado and Wyoming and other places and what fun we had. I also remember all the visits at your home and at our place. Wow, we go back a long ways. I remember the births of both of you boys and your weddings. How I wish I could see all of you again.
Joe was a devout Christian. I'm envious of him right now seeing Christ and reuniting with Kyle and all of his loved ones. Nita, please send me your phone number so I can call you. I love all of you even though we haven't seen each other in many years. I promise I will keep in touch. May God bless you and keep you in this very difficult time.

Scott and family. My sympathy to all of you. Our Sanger SHS class of 1964 remembers Joe for his ready laughter and as a friend. I only knew him about two years, until we graduated. He loved teaching and relating to the kids. I'd have enjoyed hearing his gospel singing; never got to do that. Sherry and I were in that class; she died with ALS in 2009. My thoughts are with you. Dear Nita and Family,
I will remember Joe for the kind, genital, reverent and intelligent person he was. Joe and I (along with a good number of other Silver, Texas kids) went to High School in Colorado City for a number of years. Joe was always "on top" of everything and was the person everyone could depend on to get the job done and get it right the first time. Joe will be missed here on earth but welcomed in Heaven. God bless him, I am proud to be able to call him my friend.

Mrs. Nita & family.....I was so sad to hear about the passing of Mr. Joe. He was a wonderful singer and a wonderful Christian guy!

He has done a wonderful ministry by keeping all the singers informed of news, etc.....he will certainly be missed. He was always so kind and sweet to my parents, William and Bernice Heaps (Clanton, AL). When my dad was sick and in the hosptial for 10 weeks...if I skipped a few days of keeping him updated, he would send me a note and request an update on my dad. You two were always so thoughtful and kind to stay in touch by sending cards and my dad really appreciated it.

Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that God will wrap His loving arms around you and give you peace and comfort. Sending my love, hugs and prayers to you! Sincerely! Shirley Heaps Henley
