Joe Mearle Johns' Obituary
Graveside services for Joe Mearle Johns, 72, of Longview, formerly of Gordonville, Texas, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 3, 2007 at the Shiloh Cemetery in Mt. Enterprise with Rev. Jackie Harris officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mr. Johns died Friday, August 31, 2007 in a Longview nursing home.
He was born December 3, 1934 in Mt. Enterprise, Texas to John P. Johns and Vassie Owens Johns. He retired from Vought Aircraft Industries in Grand Prairie and moved to Lake Texoma where he enjoyed his retirement fishing. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and only sister, Elaine Johns.
Surviving is a son, Joe Keith of Gordonville; a daughter, Jennifer Johns-Romano and two grandchildren of San Antonio; brother, Glenn Johns and wife Judy of Longview; wife Gail Lundberg of Gordonville and his first wife and Mother of his children, Jeannie Bearden Pieper of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews and Owens, Johns and Hudman cousins.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Glenn Johns, Kevin Glenn Johns, Randy Glenn Johns, Billy Mearle Baker, Terry Lynn Baker, David Wayne Baker, Kevin Baker, and John Baker.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
