Jimmie Carrol Knight's Obituary
Memorial services for Jimmie Carrol Knight, 73, of Longview will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. at The Church at Lake Cherokee, 11968 FM 2011 East, Henderson, Texas 75652. He will be entombed at Rosewood Park. Fr. Mike Maxwell and Pastor Dr. Bill Smythe will be officiating. Mr. Knight passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 in Longview.
Mr. Knight is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Leslie and Bobby Masters of San Marcos, TX, Mary and Tracy Irvin of Frazier Park, CA, granddaughter Lauren Masters of San Marcos; grandsons Michael Masters of San Marcos and Cameron Irvin of Frazier Park, CA; brothers and sisters-in-law Eugene and Billie Jean Knight of Hallsville, Reagan and Janet Knight of Longview, Steve and Annette Knight of Longview; George and Karen Andrews of Arlington, Texas, Sara Cheavens of Lufkin, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. Jimmie’s daughters would like to thank their family, friends and The Church of Lake Cherokee for all their support and prayers. The family would also like to express their gratitude and love for Jimmie’s niece Lisa Knight, for all her help and love she gave her uncle. He is preceded in death by his wife Sally Andrews Knight; his parents Clyde and Lillian Knight; sisters Helen Knight and Virginia Carswell.
Mr. Knight was born in Hallsville, Texas to Clyde and Lillian Knight on August 22, 1941. He graduated from Hallsville High School in 1960, where he was very active in all sports. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran and served in the United States Army and Army Reserves until 1972. He retired from Axelson after 38 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and loved feeding the humming birds. Mr. Knight had a deep love for his grandchildren and his family. His was very excited to decorate every year for Christmas with his loving wife, Sally. Jimmie’s sense of humor and jokes will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
