Jewell Dean Baird's Obituary
Services for Jewel Dean Baird ,90, of Longview will be held 10 AM Saturday, February 23rd at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Park Cemetery. Mrs. Baird died Wednesday , February 20th at Longview Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Baird was born March 16, 1911 at Dover, Arkansas to Walter and Della Blankenship Bowden. She graduated from Dover High School and Arkansas Tech at Russellville, Arkansas. In 1930, she married Dale Buster Baird at Dardenelle, Arkansas. She had been a resident of Longview since 1935. She and her husband were co-owners of Gla-Tex Packing Company and Grace Creek Ranch where they raised Brangus Cattle.
Mrs. Baird was a member of the First Christian Church of Longview, a volunteer at Good Shepherd Medical Center, a member of the African Violet Club, and a charter member of the American Brangus Breeders Association.
Mrs. Baird was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Buster Baird; grandson, Jimmy Louis Bryson; a sister and three brothers. She is survived by a daughter; Gloria Dean Bryson, of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie Dale and Wanda Baird of Longview; two grandsons, David Bryson of Longview and Jason Dale Baird of Dallas; three sisters-in-law, Coyla Bowden of Norman, Oklahoma, Opal Henderson and Fay Baird of Longview, and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that those desiring to do so, may make memorial contributions to the First Christian Church Building Fund, 720 N. 6th St. Longview, Texas 75601.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening, February 22nd 6 to 8 PM. Those unable to attend may sign an online guest memorial book at www.raderfh.com, and later view the service by clicking on funeral-cast.
