Jerry Wayne Hall's Obituary
Jerry Wayne Hall, 77, of Longview, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2020. Jerry was born on September 2, 1942 in Orange Tx to William T. Hall and Doris Marie Hall. Twenty years later Jerry graduated from Kilgore College with an Associates of Science degree. From there he pursued his bachelor’s degree at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches Tx. On October 26, 1974 he married the love of his life Vera Lucille Weatherby. Soon after he obtained his masters in mathematics. His love for learning led to a career of teaching that spanned forty years. The last of which was spent at Tatum ISD from 1970 until retirement in 2005. He was a leading pioneer in computer technology, establishing the first computer lab in east Texas. In 1957 he joined Longview United Pentecostal Church which later became Calvary Christian Tabernacle. Some of his favorite pastimes included doting on his only son, bible trivia, drawing, collecting and photoshopping pictures. His gentle soul and wonderful smile will be truly missed. Mr. Hall is survived by his loving wife, Lucille Hall; his son, Thomas Wayne Hall and wife, Alynda Hall; grandchildren, Cheyenne Hall, William DeCurtins, Alyssa DeCurtins and Shayla Hall; aunt, Katherine Pepper; and numerous cousins. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, William T. Hall and Doris Marie Hargis; sister, Glenda Hall.
