David, I was sorry to hear about your loss. Your parents were very helpful to my family when we moved to Longview in the early 60's.
It has been a while since I saw you at the University of North Texas. Like your parents did, I, too, met my wife while attending UNT. In early December, I attended a wedding in West, Texas, where your mother was born.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.##imported-begin##Allen Harrison##imported-end##

Hello Dear Friends: How I loved your Mother! I have so many memories of her teaching our Training Union class on Sunday nights. She loved us...even when we were not so loveable! What a style she had! She enriched my life as did your precious Dad. Those years at Greggton First Baptist will always be held dear to me...in large part because of them.##imported-begin##Linda Hawkes Fitzhugh##imported-end##
Mrs. Dixon befriended my family when I was 6 or 7 years of age in the mid-1950's. We lived on Silver Falls Rd at that time. She took me to VBS several summers and was always caring and helpful. She was the personification of Proverbs 31:10-31. My regards and condolences to the family.##imported-begin##Doris Gattis Nelson##imported-end##

Suzanne, David, and Charles your mother Mama D meant the world to me. I hate that I didn't go see her in Marshall. She talked to Mike several times on phone. Mama D was so precious to our entire family. She was the perfect example of a real Christian. Never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She always saw the good in others and had positive words of encouragement. Her door was always open, and her walk truly matched her talk. Mama D touched my life in a very special way. I am a much better person today for having known her. It saddens me that Mama D is gone; yet, she is in a better place. There will be many jewels in her crown. She will be greatly missed by all of us who loved her so very much. My mom, Bette, died this past May 1, 2005. She also thought the world of Mama D. They had a special relationship throughout the years. Please know that my prayers and thoughts are with you. It has been an honor, a privilege and a tremendous blessing knowing your Mom and your family. Love to you all.##imported-begin##Diane Gooden Kerbow##imported-end##
