Janie was a sweet, giving person, who was liked by all! Her obituary was all about how she did for other people. She will be missed, but we certainly have fond memories of her.

Truman and Janie were one of the very first people to hold me as a newborn. They were like another set of grandparents to me and my brother and sister. We loved going over to "Nanie's" house to have fresh bread, color/play on our special rug she had in the closet just for us, and watch her make the most beautiful blankets. Janie practically clothed me and my younger sister as she always had new handmade matching outfits for us. These outfits are now being worn by my own two little girls. I can remember one time as a little girl I told my mom I was running away. I packed my suitcase with all my dolls, figurines, and dress up clothes and marched over to my Janie's house. It's as if she knew I was coming because my play rug was already out and a snack was waiting for me on the kitchen table. I will miss this beautiful lady so very much!! Thank you for all the love, kindness, and the most cherished memories. I love you Janie!!
Janie was one of the most precious people I have ever known. Through the years, we shared a lot of memories because her family was neighbors with us when I was a teenager. Janie enlisted me to work in the Cradle Roll Dept. when Marshall was a baby. I cannot remember a time shen she wasn't cheerful--smile on her face and everything. I'll treasure the memories of Janie. To know Janie was pleasure and love, she and Truman were so good to me. There is just not a way to say what they meant in my life . Together again resting in peace. Wanda Conner.
Although I never had the privilege of meeting Mrs. Swindell, I have been blessed by my friendship with her daughter Linda for almost four decades, and from knowing Linda, I have a very good idea of what a wonderful, loving, fun person Mrs. Swindell was. I am sending my most heartfelt sympathy to Linda and Jason . . . you will be in my prayers.
Love, Karen Powell
