Jane Southerland's Obituary
Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member and loyal friend, Jane A. Southerland, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2019 in Longview, TX. Jane was born in Titus County, Green Hill Community, TX on August 17, 1917. She married Toy W Southerland in Longview and lived there the rest of her life. Jane was a seamstress for many years and made uniforms and costumes for Longview High School Majorettes and Viewettes. She enjoyed dancing, camping, bluegrass music, and most of all she loved visiting with friends and family. Jane will be remembered for her quick wit, joyful personality, and her homemade pies.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents Royal P and Nellie S Allen, husband, Toy W Southerland, two sons, Toy W Southerland III and Nevil G Southerland, two grandsons, David A Southerland and Kevin P Wendt, six brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her daughters Patricia S Echols and Pamela K Wendt, her special friend and companion Billy Webb, 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews including Sharon Lasseter, Carolyn Wynn, Charles Powell and Gail Wilson. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 6-8 pm. Services will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Both will be held at Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Rd, Longview, TX.
