James was my first cousin. I remember going to Aunt Willie's house when about 9 or 10 years old. We would put the halter on their milk cow and would graze her in the tall Johnson grass along the black dirt roads. The boys were blessed to have been raised in the country where they always had plenty of good food to eat. I remember the cornbread sticks, the corn on the cob, the okra, etc. I have only my childhood days with James, but they are good memories. I was privileged to have led his mother and Theron to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know they are in Heaven today. I do hope that James was saved and is in Heaven also. You who read this if Jesus is your Saviour take heart. for if James was saved you will see him again.   John Wayne Stephens##imported-begin##John & Janet Stephens##imported-end##

I worked with James at JP #2 for ten years and I could tell you some stories! He was a hoot and a good Constable. We always picked on each other. His name for me was old hide and mine for him was old fossil! My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. James was such a nice guy and will be missed.##imported-begin##Sandy Martin##imported-end##
