James R. Pearce
Funeral services for James R. Pearce, 84, of Longview will be held at Eleven O'clock AM Monday February 15, 2010 at Oakland Heights Baptist Church with Reverend John Pearce and Reverend Kevin Bright officiating. Interment will be in Hughes Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Pearce passed away Wednesday February 10, 2010 in Naples, Texas.
He was born July 22, 1925 in Bryan, Texas to Arthur Lee and Vida Lee Smith Pearce. He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and held a Masters of Divinity Degree and was in the Ministry for 60 years. He had lived in Longview since 2004 and was a member of the Oakland Heights Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Nan Stroud Pearce of Longview, children, J.D. Pearce and wife Carole of Alta Loma, CA; John Pearce and wife Patsy of Denton, TX.; Joanna Griffin and husband Jimmy of Naples, TX.; Joy LePoint and husband Tommy of Shreveport, LA.; sister, Joyce Jackson of Avinger, TX.; sister-in-law, Harriette Pearce of San Antonio, TX.; brother-in-law, Russell Stroud of Grand Prairie, TX.;
Eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Lee and Vida Lee Pearce, Charles "Bill" Pearce.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 pm on Sunday February 14, 2010.
