Lorrie and James:
It was always a joy to be at the dining table with Leon, Louise, Lacy and Dad. His friendship with Dad was a treasure.

Your dad was delightful at Hawkins Creek. Always an infectious smile and joyful spirit! May your memories sustain you.
Lorrie,
I am saddened to hear the news of your dad's passing. When my dad, Ray, moved to Hawkins Creek, Leon befriended him right away and was such a good tablemate for almost 2 years. Whenever I visited Dad during meals, Leon was always so fun to talk with.
I know these last months have been especially tough. Prayers for you and your family as you navigate through this time.

Lorrie, My heart hurts for you and your family. I did not know your daddy long but I loved him flirting with me at church and when I would visit him. He loved his family so much. My prayers are with you during this time. Love you so much.
We loved Leon deeply and he loved my family. He demonstrated Christ's love in his actions and words and his love for others was easily passed through his hugs. He helped keep the Jones family memories and legacy going strong in the Shakerag Community and at Sardis Baptist Church throughout his life through his visits and phone calls. As a young child, I remember the excitement I felt when Leon and Loretta walked in the church doors. They were the couple to admire and love. They loved life together. They were always on an adventure and never aged. Plus, I was always anxious to see what type of transportation they arrived in. Leon kept us on our toes and Loretta was always a delightful teammate. My thoughts and prayers are with Bill, Butch, and Leon's dear family.
I have attached a photo of Leon, Bill, and the Gladden Boys.
Leon was a special friend of mine. I remember working around Beckville at the lignite mine where I firt met met him. Always a smile and friendly, he was a truly gifted man who was genuinely interested in everyone he met. Everyone knew him and those who did loved him and Loretta, We used to go eat chicken at Mrs Loretta's restaurant there in Tatum. As time went back Leon and I became close friends. On occasion Bill , Leon and myself would eat lunch together at the DQ in Tatum. Sometimes he would call me about something and we would laugh and talk until we were worn out.
I did some land surveying work for the Jones family and met Bill who is also a good friend of mine. We attend church together. I remember Mike as well seeing him often at Tatum West. I was there when Mike passed away, This family means so much to me personally.
My heart was broken this morning when I saw his picture in the obituary. However, I know where he is, with the Lord. He loved those he met and he loved the Lord. He is a truly great man in my eyes. We have lost him for now but we shall see him when we all see the Lord in heaven.
This man will always hold a special place in my heart along with his family! Lots of great memories where made with Leon, Loretta and family when we all lived Tatum! He loved his family very much! Sending my love and sympathy to the family.
