Jay & Gay Dunn and their little ones at the time 🥰 were our very special neighbors in the
one-story duplex home we shared at U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

My wife, Nancy and I were both serving on active duty, and had PCS’d to FLW, MO from Germany in 1977.

We have wonderful memories of good times together with Jay & Gay!

It was happenstance that we came upon Jay’s obituary so many years after his untimely death, and we are so saddened from this news.

Gay/Jed I just found out about Jay. I don't know if you remember me, I am Brent Milam's Mom & the late Jim Milam's wife. They were in Boy Scouts with you & your Dad. I am so sorry to hear about Jay. We are saddened to hear about Jay passing away. We missed him at the Rally to the Guidons this past weekend and then I received an e-mail from Ross Epstein, and I was so thankful for that. We who knew Jay are blessed as well as any and all who came in contact with such a good man. His legacy will live on because of who he was and how he conducted himself on this earth, a "True fisher of men" by the example of his life. We will miss him dearly.

Dear Gay,

I am so saddened by the recent death of your husband. Jay was such a good man to have as your friend. I always appreciated his humor and positive outlook over the years of our friendship. My fond memories of Jay taking me as his assistant scoutmaster to Philmont with 12 teenagers to supervise while we were in dental school will be a little sadder in the future, but what a great time we had. His committment to scouting was always there. Even though our paths had not crossed often the last 10 years, it was always the same level of friendship when we met.We will all miss Jay in the future, but I am blessed that he was a part of my life.
