Jackie Rash's Obituary
Jackie Rash was born March 19, 1937, in Monticello, Arkansas, to Clay and Alene Rash. By the time he was 8 years old he was standing on a wooden apple crate rebuilding transmissions.
1956 was a busy year for Jackie, he eloped with the love of his life Ilene Berry, graduated Monticello High School, and moved to Longview, Texas. He worked for various new car dealerships in Longview and Kilgore, before going to work for SWEPCO. After 25 years of service Jackie retired in 1994.
Jackie loved working on antique cars, traveling in the Rocky Mountains, and camping in Big Bend National Park. He would help anyone who needed it. Loved breakfast at McDonald’s on the loop. Decorating for Christmas, and he could fix everything that was broken, except his wore out body.
Jackie was a faithful member of Post Oak Road church of Christ in Kilgore, he loved going to church, and was heart broken when he could no longer attend.
Jackie was proceeded in death by his son Anthony “Tony” C. Rash, and his parents.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 67 years Ilene, his son Michael David, and Pamela Rash, of Longview, his daughter in law Nancy Rash, of Hallsville. His four grandchildren, William and Stacey Riggle, of Madison, Al. Crystal Williams, of Ft. Worth, Tx. Sara and Kevin Claiborne of Hallsville, and Clay Rash of Dallas, Tx. Seven great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday, July 21, 2023 in the Chapel of Rader funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm before the service. Private family entombment will be in the Hope Garden Mausoleum at Rosewood Park.
