I know this post is very late, but I wanted to say how much I loved Jackie Rash. He and Ilene have been in my life for many years and they are such lovely people giving their time and talents so freely. Whenever there was an occasion in my family like a wedding they came all the way from Texas to Arkansas. My wedding in 1969 and then my daughter Haley’s in 1990; they were there sharing joy. My dad had serious surgery in 2002 and they came. Jackie seemed to be ready when Ilene said “Let’s go love on this family”! With getting older and failing health I haven’t seen Jackie and Ilene in several years, but I knew they loved me and my family as I loved them. I’m sad for Jackie’s family, but I know they are assured he is with God.

So sorry to here of Jackie passing. He was my friend and mentor, Jackie took me under his wing way back in 1972 while working at Murphy Olds in Kilgore. then later on we worked together at Bass Chevrolet. Jackie was the best mechanic I every knew, he could fix anything, but more than being a great mechanic he was a great friend that would do anything for his friends and family. Lot of great memories of Jackie Rash.
Ilene and David, my heart is broken. I have loved you and your family for a long time. I consider you my family. We’ve enjoyed being together and I really have some fun memories. You babysat my son while I visited the doctor when I was pregnant. That little boy you took card of( and didn’t want to go home! ) Is fifty years old! You mean so much to me. I have fond memories of Jackie from a long time ago. I met him when he and my Daddy worked together at Murphy Olds in Kilgore. I worked there with them one summer. For a 16 yr. old boy who wanted to be a mechanic washing parts for Jackie was a great privilege. I started working on an old Ford right after that. I wasn't having much luck and Jackie had me bring it to his house where he helped me get it going. I have a picture of that car and it reminds me of Jackie when I see it. Later when He was at Swepco he'd come in the Ford place in Henderson where I worked. We'd visit and I'd show him my tools and what I was working on. He was a good one! RIP my friend. I'll be praying for his family ya'll have lost a treasure.
Our hearts are sad today for the loss of our brother-in-law Jackie. We know God welcomed him with open arms.
Jackie was a master builder and repair man of almost anything except the light on the piano at Our wedding over 62 years ago.
Jackie and Ilene showed us the love of travel in Colorado and camping in Big Bend , Texas.
We visited each other often over the years and taught our children the love of family.
Our family will miss our brother-in law Jackie. He was just our brother.
Our prayer now is for sister Ilene and family.

I am so sorry to hear that Jackie has passed but i know that he is now with Jesus in heaven and he does not suffer with sickness anymore. May God bless you all as you learn to live without Jackie in your presence today and the future. I still remember the time he arrived in Monticello from Jacksboro in the Black Plymouth car. How proud he was! Peace and comfort for you all.
