Mrs Garrett, I was in the army with JW in 1953. I had been looking for him for over 15 years. I jusn now have learned to search on the computer and discovered him today in the obituary.I am so sorry about his loss. We were good friends. He came to see me while I was in college at Alpine Tx in about 1957 when he was on a job out there. That was my last contact with him. Betty, we both wanted to let you know that we're praying for the entire family during this great loss. J.W. will be missed by everyone. You'll have been an inspiration to us both through the years. Jim remembers talking "fishing" a lot with J.W. at the Tree House. Since we moved in 2000, we haven't kept up with you'll but have never forgotten our times together. Jay was a wonderful man who would do anything for anyone who needed his help. My favorite memory is visiting my family next door and watching Jay mow the lawn with the dog in his lap! I remember as a child spending the night & how fun you were to be with. You could turn anything negative into something fun and positive. We came to see you tonight to lift you up & hopefully brighten your spirit, however, once again YOU lifted ME up. I came with a saddened heart yet just 20 minutes with you I was renewed. I am one of the fortunate ones that has been blessed by just knowing you. I know without a doubt that everyone that has ever met you has been lifted up in one form or another.
