Mother and I were so sorry to hear about Ira. He and my dad, Grady, became friends when Ira was working at Peoples Bank in Tatum. He and daddy enjoyed having lunch together at Johnny Cace's many times.##imported-begin##Susan and Effie Downs##imported-end##
I remember my grandmother, Lena Bankston, always going into the bank in Tutwiler and always being so welcomed as if she were the only customer that mattered. She owned a grocery store on the main highway and sold hot tomale's on a weekly basis to the employees there.

It is most likely I won't be able to attend either service for him as I have been very sick this week with a viral infection.
