Hertha Ann Whatley's Obituary
A Celebration of Life Service for Hertha Ann Whatley, 83, of Longview will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Barron officiating. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Park Mausoleum under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Whatley was born January 13, 1936 in Shreveport, LA to her parents, H.O. and Myrtle Stahl. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor’s degree. She was a longtime teacher and taught at Pine Tree ISD and Ore City ISD. Mrs. Whatley also was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to camp with her “Albert” family.
Mrs. Whatley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Grant Whatley; and brother Frederick Stahl.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Terry Whatley and wife Lisa and Shannon Erler and husband Mark; her grandchildren, Chris Whatley and wife Kayla, Matt Whatley and wife Christine, Chelsea Powers and Grant Powers; great grandchildren, Wyatt Whatley, Walker Whatley, Scout Whatley, Kinsler Whatley and Kabryn Whatley; her siblings, Charles Stahl, Jeanette Kirkindoll, Patsy McGinnis and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Whatley, Matthew Whatley, Gary Kirkindoll, Cooter Kirkindoll, Grant Powers, Freddy Stahl, Lane Stahl and Kenny McGinnis.
