Yesterday I wanted to share with you that Herschel never met a stranger. When we ate dinner at Johnny Caces last year, we felt like we had known him all of his life. He made you feel comfortable with him at once. Then today, after listening to Jon and Sheryl yesterday share "ribbons" about him and his love for Christ and then studying my Sunday School lesson, I wanted to share more. Our lesson was about following God's example and how Christ shed his blood because it pleased His father and because of His love for us. I thought of Herschel and the way they described him was exactly what Paul was talking about to follow God's example. I feel blessed to have known Herschel as I am sure all of his friends feel that way. He will leave a big void in everyone's life but it must be filled by Christ's love, he would want it that way. I pray that God fills your hearts with His love and compassion so you can pass on Herschel's legacy. It was a beautiful one. God bless you all.
