Glenn Harland Barton's Obituary
Glenn Harland "Bullet" Barton, 76, of Henderson went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 24, 2012. Funeral services will be held Monday November 26, 2012 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with Chaplain Keith Lybrand officiating. Burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Harland was born October 29, 1936 to Tildon and Beatrice Dorsey Barton in Henderson , Texas . He was a sergeant in the United States Army, a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson and one of the founding members of the Rusk County Treasure Hunting Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved sharing these times with his daughters and grandchildren.
Harland worked at Eastman in Longview , TX and married his wife of 55 years, Barbara Jean on November 7, 1957 in Henderson , TX .
Mr. Barton was preceded in death by his parents; Tildon and Beatrice Barton, brothers, Tildon Laverne Barton and JW Barton and a grandchild, Ryan Alford.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri Sadler & Paul and Beverly Rivers & Rickey, Grandchildren; Lee Sadler and Cara Buysse of Austin, Joel Sadler of Austin, Sam Sadler and Melanie Dumas, Brandon Sadler and wife Savana of Colorado, Erin Wantoch, Jared Haydel and wife Rhonda of Longview, Trent Haydel and Sarah Hill, Taylor Haydel and Wife Jenna of San Antonio, Hannah and Dustin Barron of Henderson, Chris and Leslie Rivers of Kilgore, Great Grandchildren; Hunter Davis, Faith Davis, Phenix Rivers, Mavricks Rivers, Evan Haydel, Anna Sadler and Kaydence Sadler, three nieces; Linda Casteele, Donna Cook, and Carolina Maxwell, and a nephew, Thomas Laverne Barton.
Pallbearers will be Lee Sadler, Joel Sadler, Sam Sadler, Thomas Laverne Barton, Jared Haydel, Trent Haydel, Taylor Haydel, Chris Rivers and honorary pallbearer Brandon Sadler.
The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 9:30a.m. to 11:00a.m. Monday morning.
