Services for GL Palmer, 80, of Longview will be held at Greggton First Baptist Church on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 3:30 PM with Reverend Bobby E. Moore officiating, assisted by Reverend Greg Moulton. Interment will follow in Read Obituary

Mrs. Palmer,
I am sorry my condolences are coming so late. I just found out about this guest book. Palmer was truly one of a kind and left me with such fond childhood memories of Plainview school. He made going to gym class so much fun. I still think of him every time I hear Cracklin Rose as he played it in class. He was the best Coach I ever had and no one that came after him was ever able to fill his shoes. The world won't be quite the same without him and Heaven will never be the same with him. I for one can't wait to get there and see him again.

Janet,

There is little any of us can say to ease the pain of losing Palmer. He was an amazing man, and he will be missed by everyone. As you know, both of you touched many many lives and had a great impact this world. We are all thankful to both of you! I look back and remember GREAT times as Mr. Palmer made gym FUN! So sorry to hear of the loss of your "sweetheart". Palmer cared about and cheered on everyone. He was always ready to protect you, his students and his colleagues. Dear Janet:
Please accept my sympathy in the passing of Palmer. I will always remember him in elementary PE. We had the best times in there. He always seemed to have as much fun in class as we did. Not an easy task for a teacher to accomplish. My memories of Plainview and Sheridan Lake will always be wonderful and they are special because of the people like you and Palmer.
