Gilbert Pool's Obituary
Funeral services for Gilbert Pool, 81, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 30, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road with the Eddie Gouch offi-ciating. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Park?s Mausoleum.
Mr. Pool was born on July 21, 1923 in Mt. Pleasant to Luther and Alice Pool. He passed away on September 27, 2004 in a Longview hospital.
Mr. Pool graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and attended Texas A&M. He served his country during World War II and was a member of Alpine Church of Christ.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Pool was preceded in death be his parents, and his wife, Ruth. He is sur-vived by his wife, Doris Pool of Long-view; daughter, Dana Taylor of Long-view; granddaughter, Andrea Taylor of Longview; grandson, Scott Smith and his wife Mari of Longview; and Great Grand-son, Dylan Thompson of Longview.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM Wednesday evening, September 29, 2004 at the funeral home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in honor of Mr. Pool to: Boles Children?s Home, 7065 Love, Quinlan, Texas 75474-9904.
