Services for Gilbert D. Harris Sr., 79, of Longview will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral home at 2 pm, on Thursday with Rev. David Reeder Officiating. Mr. Harris passed into glory in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Read Obituary
When I was growing up my dad worked for Harris Line Service for a while and I remember him well. He was a great man. I used to babysit Jason when he was smaller and enjoyed so much being around the family. I am truly sorry for your loss and my prayers go out to your family.
Gilbert did what he said he would do. What else could a good man accomplish? As someone once said about a special person. "He did it his way". It was my pleasure to know him and my privilege to have spend some great times with together.
I was sorry to hear about gilbert's passing. I worked for gilbert for over 25 years. I started with him when he used to haul chain saws around in Dorothy's lincoln Continental in the back seat. I saw his company grow from 2 crews to about 25. He was a pallbearer at my dad's funeral. I'll never forget the crazy things and fun we had while working our butts off. Linda,donna, and gil(Yaw have my prayers and deepest sympathy) Yaw lost a dad and i have lost a good friend and best boss i ever had!!! Charlie Keadle

So sorry for your loss Mr Harris was a very Generous Man .I cooked At Waffle house many years ago and he was a good customer and would always tip me well during the holiday seasons as he would during his visits at least once aweek .Enjoyed taking to him and will never forget his generosity.
I lived at Lake Cherokee 30 years, and was always thrilled to see the Harris Line Service trucks keeping our trees trimmed so we would not loose power...Gilbert ran a good business and was a tremendous asset to our community. Blessings to all his family, I know he will be missed.

LINDA AND FAMILY ,I'M SO SORRY TO READ ABOUT YOUR DAD. HE WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON AND I ENJOYED WAITING ON HIM AT THE BANK YEARS AGO , MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH U AND YOUR FAMILY .
I kinda remember him from when I was little liveing next door to to his daughter donna and granddaughter stacy. Stacy was my childhood best friend.
