I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful man I thought Gerald was. Our first meeting was 8 yrs. ago when i brought a rookie 12 and under team oldest nieces team to play in Longview. Of course we were way out of our league, but I heard Gerald tell his team that he wanted the girls to play hard but that they were there to help our team learn. As a former High School coach I thought he had alot of class in this. This past year he gave my 7 yr old and youngest niece pitching lessons; for a shy child he could make her laugh. During the years I have always tried to keep up with the Shipley twins, I know your dad was very proud of you. So during this hard time my prayers are with you and your family. Gerald will be missed by many; he touched so many lives and alot he never knew that he did. Debra Brill##imported-begin##Debra Brill##imported-end##
Gerald was a good co-worker and friend. I got to know him well in the time he spent in Longview with Schlumberger. He always went out of his way to help new employees and anyone that was in need. Farewell friend I will see you someday on the streets of Heaven serving the Father of us all.##imported-begin##Michael Micky Kennedy##imported-end##
Kathy, Kristy, Kelly,
There are no words that express how we feel for you. It is just so unbelievable. We called Heather to let her know and she was devestated. Even though Gerald was hard on the girls, they loved him and respected him and learned much from him. We thank him for all he did for Heather and Tara. They are better players because of him. This isn't anything you didn't already know, but I wanted to let you know how we feel. You are all in our prayers and thoughts. Love, Tanya Powdrill##imported-begin##Tanya Powdrill##imported-end##
I was sad and shocked to read about the loss of Gereald in our local paper. In High School he was in the class above me. We shared a class or two toghether. Gerald was very kind and a good friend. I know he will be missed deeply. You have my deepest sympathy. Nancy Friemel.##imported-begin##Nancy Banner Friemel##imported-end##
Dear Shipleys,
It is with a deep sense of loss that I extend my hearfelt sympathy to you all today. I grew up with Gerald and knew him to be such a sweet, wonderful person. His sense of humour was legendary as was his kindness. I know that you all will miss him so much but please take comfort in the fact that he has seen the face of our Savior and will be waiting for you. The bible says that 1 day in heaven is 1000 days here so he will not have much time to miss his beloved ones. I know that our Father knows our hearts desires and He made a place for Gerald Wayne according to his desires. I bet that he is coaching a girls softball team or planning to! May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
831, Gerald.##imported-begin##Doris Kelley-Hamilton##imported-end##
Kathy, you and the girls, are in our prayers of comfort and sympathy. I maintain the fondest of memories of Gerald from growing up in Hereford to rooming together in Lubbock. Seek comfort in God as his strength and love are everlasting.##imported-begin##Shelley Hacker##imported-end##

I know that there are no words I could say to stop the pain and hurt you feel now. I just wanted to let you know how much I respected Gerald. Every time I talked to him the conversation always came back to his two daughters. He was so proud of you. I feel like Gerald and I had a lot in common. He was a competitor and had a passion for young people. Having a daughter who loves softball and pitching, this is a reminder to seize every moment, every second setting on that bucket catching balls. Christy and Kelli, I want to thank you for being a great role model for my daughter Minta. You guys are the ones that inspired her to pitch. Remember that GOD is an awesome GOD who loves you. My prayers are with you.##imported-begin##Randy Spears##imported-end##
Kathy, Christy and Kelli-
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. We will never forget the great times on the softball field. "Go Sluggers" Your Dad was very proud of you girls for all of your accomplishments.
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles...

Kathy,
There is not anything I could say to ease the grief you are feeling at this time. But I wanted to let you know that I am praying for you, Christy, and Kelly that you will feel Gods presence near you. Through the past years, Gerald taught Jordan alot on how to play "the game" correctly! I have seen her demonstrate things on the field that she only learned from him. And she and I will always remember him holding on to her "pony tail" when she was pitching to get her to "stand up straight". He was so proud of your girls, not once can I remember talking with him, that he didn't have something good to say about them! We were truly blessed to be able to know him. I think it goes without saying he will always be thought of everytime Jordan steps on the field. Thank you and the girls for allowing him to touch our lives and so many more.
We will continue to pray for you all
Sincerely,
Kristy and Jordan Pierce##imported-begin##Kristy Pierce##imported-end##
