The first time I met Georgette she had to come to open the office door, because I didn’t have a key yet. She swung the door and her arms open, squeezed me tight and said, “Honey, God love ya. We are so happy you are here.” From then on I loved that woman. Every morning I would eat my breakfast and just listen to her talk about the news, how many earthquakes happened throughout the night, who fought what battle and over what, life lessons, ER stories from the beginning of her career, albatross birds, the list goes on. That’s what I will miss the most. Just listening to her talk and learning from her. She is the most strong, honest, wise, well rounded, interesting woman I’ve ever met. She was a wonderful nurse, friend, mentor, and mama to all of us at work. She who would do anything for anybody. I miss her terribly and this office will never be the same, but we will cherish her memories forever. Every day she would walk in the door and say, “Honey I’m home.” Well you know what G? Honey you are home! She’s traveled 56 countries, but they all fail in comparison to the trip she is on now.
