Freddy Clint Selz's Obituary
Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for Freddy Clint Selz of Longview at 2:00pm on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm preceding the service. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery in Harleton. Mr. Selz completed his earthly journey on July 27, 2017 in Longview.
Mr. Selz was born on September 22, 1941 to Fred Bright Selz and Helen Jacobs Selz in Denton, Texas. He was in the Marshall High School Class of 1960, and afterward attended Le Tourneau University and Stephen F. Austin University. He also served in the United States Army. He started his engineering career with Munford Engineering in Jackson, Mississippi, then worked at The Borden Company, where he was a project engineer and traveled across the country to work on the production plants. He retired from Borden after 36 years of service. In retirement, he continued to enjoy building, anything mechanical, and his daughters and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Selz and daughter Sara Selz and fiancé Jimmy Fox of Conroe; daughter Alison Miles and fiancé J.R. Hill of Bullard; and daughter Karen Storrie and husband Mike Storrie of Flower Mound. He is also survived by his brother Paul Selz and wife Mary Selz of San Antonio; his mother- in- law, Naomi Talley of Marshall; and his sister and brother-in-law Jeanette and Brent Murray of Harleton. He leaves behind six grandchildren: Makenzie Miles, Elizabeth Storrie, Alex Miles, Jake Storrie, Matt Storrie, and Abbey Latner.
Fred had many friends and acquaintances, and his intelligence and sense of humor will be missed by everyone.
