Funeral services for Frances Denham, 91, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home , 1617 Judson Road with Rev. Bobby Moore and Rev. Winford Stone officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. in Dover Cemetery in Carroll, TX under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mrs. Denham went to be with the Lord on Sunday May 24, 2009 in Longview. She was born August 20, 1917 in Carroll, TX to A. T. and Ada Clifton Armstrong.
She is survived by two daughters, Jo Carolyn "Jodi" Henry and husband Bob of Longview, and Valeta Faye Murray and husband Fred of Rockwall; six grandchildren, Traci McHenry and husband Mark, Joe Murray and wife Meredith, Melinda Ingle and husband Bill, Michael Henry and wife Michelle, Lori Armey and husband David, Danny Henry and wife Mandy; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Faye Dowell of Mt. Sylvan, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bailey Denham; parents, step-mother Alice Armstrong; brothers, A. T. Armstrong, Jr., Raye Armstrong; and aunt, Lillie Maye Armstrong, whom she was a caregiver for several years.
Frances graduated from Van High School in 1935 and from East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce, TX in 1942. Her teaching career led her to Quitman, Corpus Christi, Lindale, Edcouch-Elsa Rio Grande Valley and Pine Tree where she taught 4th grade for 18 years. In 1983 she retired from the teaching profession after 36 years. Teaching was her passion and she loved to help students achieve their highest potential
She was a member of the Greggton First Baptist Church for 45 years. In those years, she served on many committees, taught Sunday School and served wherever needed. Frances was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and received a 50 year recognition from Eastern Star in Mt. Sylvan, TX.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for all the prayers and phone calls during her illness, and especially to the staff and nurses at Margaret's House for their tender and compassionate care.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm.
